The Government initiated a considerable investment on internships in 2009, as a submeasure to moderate the effects of the financial crisis and the subsequent recession on the labour market. The Swedish National Audit Office concludes that there is no clear indication that the measures taken have had better effects on regular permanent full-time employments than other labour market programs.
