Development aid through international organisations – Ministry for Foreign Affairs handling of multilateral development cooperation (RiR 2014:24)
In 2013 SEK 12 billion of Sweden's development aid went to international organisations. An audit by the Swedish National Audit Office shows that the Ministry for Foreign Affairs’ handling of development aid is not open and transparent. Consequently it is not possible to assess whether aid funds go to organisations that are effective and achieve good results.
